Bubbie's Sweet Cheese Noodle Kugel
My entry is my take on my Bubbie Leah Greenman’s Cheese Kugel. It was one of my favorite dishes she used to make in my parent’s home where I grew up as a child in Manhattan Beach. Bubbie Leah taught me all I know about Jewish cooking from what she learned growing up in a small shtettel in Russia. She taught me to make lots of delicious dishes but I am going to share my take on her cheese kugel she made on Shavout when we ate a lot of dairy. We made blintzes and cheese kugel together. Bubbie Leah made various types of kugel. She made plain kugel evey Friday for Shabbos, liver kugel for the High Holidays and cheese kugel for Shavout. This is my interpretation of what I call my Sweet Cheese Noodle Kugel that I am sharing with you. It is made with very simple ingredients of noodles (lokshen), eggs, cottage cheese. farmer cheese, sugar, salt, pepper, and oil. It is so simple yet so delicious. Please watch my video and enjoy! I loved growing up in a kosher Jewish home, celebrating all the Jewish holidays because my father was a Cantor. My upbringing was amazing especially growing up all things Jewish. My love of the Yiddish language and the food is wear my heart is.
