Risa's Post Roast

This is the recipe for the pot roast my Mom always made.  She learned it from my Dad’s Mom, who was Ashkenazi, my Mom was Sephardic so she did not grow up eating this.  She never actually told me the recipe.  I learned it from watching her make it every holiday.  Now I make it for my family and every holiday my kids request it.  It has gotten so popular I now make it starting with 14 pounds of meat in a very large pot, so there are lots of leftovers to take home. My son always says that when he gets married his wife will need to learn how to make this.  I kind of laugh inside because I know how simple the recipe is.  I love to cook for my family.  I love how the food brings us together and I would cook every day if it meant my family could be all together.
