Get Excited For Our MyKosher Kids Showdown Contest!
MyKosher Recipe Contest: FAQ
Q. What is the contest all about?
A: We were thinking about all the kids stuck at home during this quarantine, and what we could do to help. Cooking is a great activity anyone can do at home, and creating something is a great outlet for creative energy. We’re hoping this will be a source of some fun and energy; so many of us could use some of both right now.
Q: What do I have to submit?
A: A two minute video of yourself (or with siblings) cooking something! It can be any recipe you want. Your own, your grandmother’s, a cookbook’s, a magazine. Or even better, a kosher.com recipe! Baking, cooking, plating… up to you! Use your creativity and have fun!
Q: Can it be something I’m baking/something that’s not cooked, like a smoothie/something I’m decorating/etc.?
A: Yes. All good. In the kitchen, involving food? You got it.
Q: Who is eligible to enter?
A: Anyone up to age 15. Parents can help prepare behind the scenes but cannot appear in the video. (We have removed the limits on location- people in any country are eligible to enter!)
Q: What will the video be used for? Will it be made public?
A: We may decide to share any video from the contest on our website or other platforms like social media. Please do not submit anything you are not comfortable making public. We will not accept anonymous submissions. Parents or guardians must approve all submissions.
(Tip- you do not need to show your face in the video. A “hands in pans” video is a creative style, too!)
Q: Can I submit more than one entry?
A: Sure! Go for it!
Q: How will the contest be judged?
A: There will be a voting system after the contest ends in which everyone can vote to choose the winners.
Q: Is this connected to the MyKosher recipe contest back in February?
A: Sort of! It’s a contest run by Kosher.com, so yes, it’s connected. But this is MyKosher 2.0, Kids’ Edition! We decided that kids’ videos are the next contest we are doing. Have fun submitting!
Technical Issues:
Q: How do I submit my video?
A: Make sure your link is a valid link to a file stored online, that we will be able to view. It should not be password protected or limited to only specific email addresses to view.
Note: If your video is on google drive, this is how you make it viewable to us.
